Fatin Abbas is the author of Ghost Season: A Novel, set in the borderlands of Sudan and South Sudan (US/UK/Germany 2023/2024). Her short fiction has appeared in Granta, Freeman’s, The Warwick Review, and Friction, and her journalism and review essays have appeared in The Guardian, Le Monde diplomatique, The Nation, The Berlin Review, Zeit Online, Africa is a Country, Bidoun, African Arguments and openDemocracy, amongst other places. She was born in Khartoum, Sudan and grew up in New York. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from Harvard University and teaches in the department of Comparative Media Studies/Writing at MIT in Cambridge, USA.
