Noa was born in Tel Aviv to a family of Yemeni origins and grew up in New York, where she cultivated her passion for music. At the age of 17, she returned to Israel and began her career collaborating with Gil Dor, with whom she created a unique sound that blends Middle Eastern music, jazz, and pop influences. A socially engaged artist of rare talent in the contemporary music scene, Noa has captivated audiences worldwide with her passionate and committed style. Her voice and artistic integrity have garnered the admiration of music legends such as Quincy Jones, Sting, Stevie Wonder, and Pat Metheny. The latter produced her first international album, Noa, which was released by Geffen Records in 1994. She gained worldwide recognition in 1997 when Roberto Benigni selected her to perform Beautiful That Way, the main theme of the soundtrack for Life is Beautiful. With music composed by Nicola Piovani and lyrics by Noa, this song achieved international acclaim, driven by the success of the film that won three Academy Awards.
