Federica Manzon was born in Pordenone and has a degree in philosophy. She made her debut in 2008 with Come si dice addio (“How to Say Goodbye”), published by Mondadori, which was followed byvDi fama e di sventura (“Of Fame and Misfortune”, 2011, Rapallo Carige prize and Selezione Campiello prize), La nostalgia degli altri (“The Nostalgia of Others”, Feltrinelli 2017), and Il bosco del confine (“The Border Woods”, Aboca 2020). She also edited the anthology, I mari di Trieste (“The Seas of Trieste”, Bompiani 2015). In 2024, she published Alma, a novel that weaves together stories and events where identity, memory, and personal, family, and national histories continuously intertwine and elude one another. Set in Trieste, the novel serves as a vantage point to explore our complex struggles to understand who we are and where we belong. Alma was awarded the Campiello Prize in 2024. Manzon lives between Milan and Trieste and currently works as editorial director of the Guanda publishing house.
