Igor Štiks (Sarajevo) is the author of the novels Elijahova stolica (2006), translated into Italian as Mentre Alma dorme (Frassinelli, 2008) and in English as The Judgment of Richard Richter (AmazonCrossing 2017), and Dvorac u Romagni (2000) both of which have received numerous awards and have been translated into 15 languages. After completing a PhD at the Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris and Northwestern University in Chicago, he has taught in Edinburgh, Ljubljana, Graz, Sarajevo, and Belgrade. He is also the author of Nations and Citizens in Yugoslavia and the Post-Yugoslav States: One Hundred Years of Citizenship (Bloomsbury, 2015) and, with Srećko Horvat, Welcome to the Desert of Post-Socialism: Radical Politics after Yugoslavia (Verso, 2015). In 2014, he was honoured with the prestigious French distinction of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
