Double Degree with Kyungpook National University

The new Double Degree Program between Ca' Foscari University and Kyungpook National University (KNU) (South Korea) is active starting from the a.y. 2023/2024.

The Program offers students enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa, South Korea Studies - Humanities course at Ca' Foscari University the opportunity to follow an international course of study, attending courses for an academic semester at the partner University and obtaining the degree from both Universities.

At the end of the course of study, students will obtain a double degree:

  • Bachelor's degree in Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa from Ca' Foscari University of Venice;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Korean Language and Literature from the Kyungpook National University.

Who can apply

The program is reserved to students regularly enrolled in the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa, South Korea Studies - Humanities course at Ca’ Foscari University.

For admission to the program, applicants must prove a proficiency in Korean (Topik 3) and English (level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).


Application and selection

Students can apply for the programme following the procedures and deadlines outlined in the DJD Call for applications and its annexes, which are published annually.

The results of the selection process are published on this webpage, according to the timelines specified in Annex A to the Call.

Outcomes


Study period abroad

The program, lasting 4 years and one academic semester totally, envisages a mobility period at the partner University of 3 academic semesters.

Selected students will attend at the partner University:

  • one Korean language course (1st semester of the 4th year, between November and February)
  • one study mobility (2nd semester of the 4th year and 1st semester of the 5th year).

Students will be contacted by the staff of the Welcome Unit for information regarding the procedures to be carried out before, during and after the mobility.

Information about scholarship possibilities can be found in the annual call for applications.

All students are required to submit a Learning Agreement listing all academic activities to be carried out abroad that will be recognized in their study plan at the end of the period.


Graduation

Students participating in the programme will write the thesis in their home university, and they will have to follow the same procedures as all other enrolled students at Ca’Foscari in order to request to graduate.

The thesis will be written according to the rules of your course of study, as provided for in the dedicated webpage.

After graduating from Ca' Foscari, students can request the issuance of their Korean diploma. Both qualifications will be legally recognized in the countries of issuance.
