The double degree programme jointly designed by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Capital Normal University, offers students enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree programme in Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa - China curriculum, the opportunity to follow an international study path, attending the 3rd year of study and an additional year at the partner University. At the end of the programme, which lasts a total of four years, students will obtain a dual academic degree:
The programme is reserved for students enrolled in the bachelor’s degree in Language, Culture and Society of Asia and Mediterranean Africa - China curriculum, at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
To participate in the programme, students must apply during their 2nd year of enrollment.
Students must earn all the credits envisaged for the first two years of the bachelor’s degree programme before their departure, successfully passing the exams. The departure is subject to the effective acquisition of the required ECTS credits.

Students can apply for the programme following the procedures and deadlines outlined in the Call for applications and its annexes, which are published annually.
The results of the selection process are published on this webpage, according to the timelines specified in Annex A of the Call.

Selected students will spend two years at the partner university during their 3rd and 4th year of enrollment in the degree programme
The plan of academic activities to be carried out at CNU is fixed, but it varies based on the students’ Chinese language proficiency level (which is determined upon their arrival in Beijing) and their assigned study track.
To define the study plan for the first year of mobility, students must complete one of the forms available below, according to their specialization track and assigned language level. The form must be signed for approval by the academic coordinator of the program at Ca’ Foscari University, Prof. Bianca Basciano, and the responsible person at CNU.

Payment of tuition fees at Ca' Foscari is required until the students’ career is officially closed and their Italian diploma is issued. Graduation at Ca’ Foscari typically takes place during the autumn graduation session of the 3rd year of enrollment.
Participants are offered financial support by the Beijing Municipal Authority through the so-called “Beijing Municipal Foreign Students Scholarship”, which grants an exemption from tuition fees payment at the host university. The subsidy offered by the municipality of Beijing does not cover the administrative costs of submission of the application and registration at CNU, which is due by the participants upon arrival at the partner university.
If a student breaks the laws of the People's Republic of China or the regulations of the host University, the partner institution reserves the right to revoke the subsidy and the student will have to pay tuition fees at CNU.
Should the Beijing Municipal Authority, for reasons non-depending on the host University, stop granting the subsidy, the student will be responsible for covering the full tuition fees at CNU for the entire duration of the mobility period.
If a student fails to pass one or more exams, CNU may require the payment of an additional fee.
For the first year of mobility only, students will benefit from a mobility grant with a variable amount, as defined annually in the Annex B to the Calls for Applications.
Before departing for the mobility, selected students will be required to:
Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.
After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).
If the students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.
At the end of the first year of mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.
There are no mobility procedures planned for the second year abroad, for which students will not receive funding from the University.
At the end of the 3rd year of mobility, the partner University will send to the Welcome Unit the Transcript of Records, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad.
Students must successfully pass the final examination required by Ca’ Foscari University, by submitting a formal graduation request following the procedures and deadlines indicated on the official webpage: Thesis and final degree exam | Deadlines, admission and procedures.
Considering the different academic calendars of the two universities, students will be able to graduate from Ca’ Foscari starting from the Fall graduation session of the 3rd year. It is not compulsory to return to Italy for the graduation.

Students who intend to continue their studies with a master's degree programme of the Department of Asian and North African Studies have the option to request recognition of the credits earned during their 4th year at the partner university, allowing for a shortened academic path. Recognition is not automatic and may not be fully granted.
