The Awards: Venetian Glass Sculptures

Once again this year, the awards for the three competitions – beautiful Murano glass artworks – are crafted by the PROMOVETRO Consortium – Vetro Artistico di Murano, a consortium for the promotion and protection of Murano glass. Founded in 1985 as an initiative of a group of artisans committed to producing artistic glass, it has grown over the years into an important consortium representing around fifty Murano artisan and industrial companies. Since its inception, Promovetro has been dedicated to enhancing the image of Murano artistic glass to preserve, safeguard, and defend the millennial art of Murano glass while promoting and ensuring its proper global marketing. Since 2001, it has managed and promoted the collective trademark Vetro Artistico® Murano, established by the Veneto Region with Law No. 70, of December 23, 1994, the only legal certification guaranteeing product origin to end consumers. Vetro Artistico® Murano is a guarantee of provenance and authenticity for consumers and a protection for Murano producers, who alone can claim the secrets of an artistic and manufacturing tradition passed down from generation to generation. An important recognition for an island that has become a global symbol of Made in Italy.
