Stefano Beggiora is an Associate Professor of Indian History, Hindi Literature, and Shamanic Ethnography at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Passionate about Eastern societies and cultures, he has conducted indological and anthropological research for many years, as well as development cooperation activities in India. Specializing in the study of South Asian shamanism, he has published numerous essays and books on the ādivāsī, the indigenous peoples of South Asia, as well as scientific articles on colonial history, welfare and development, constitutional rights for lower castes and ethnic minorities, and the contemporary history of political movements in the Indian subcontinent.
John Bleasdale is a lecturer at Ca’ Foscari, writer, and film critic. His work regularly appears in *Sight and Sound*, *The Economist*, *The Financial Times*, and many online publications. He is the producer and host of the podcast *Writers on Film*. He is currently writing a biography of Terrence Malick.
Cecilia Cossio was a researcher in Hindi Language and Literature at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice from 1978 to 2006. For almost thirty years, she has focused on Indian cinema and society, a topic on which she has published numerous essays and the book *Cinema in India. The Strange Case of Shashi Kapoor* (2005). She curates the Indian section of the AsiaMedia portal (http://asiamedia.unive.it).
Tiziana D’Amico is a researcher at the Department of Linguistic and Comparative Cultural Studies at Ca’ Foscari, where she teaches Czech language and literature. Her areas of interest include: the European avant-garde, particularly Czech surrealism; translation of multimedia texts (subtitles and comics); and memory studies in popular culture production. She graduated in Philology and Eastern European History (Polish, Czech, and Slovak) from the University of Naples “L’Orientale,” where she also earned her doctorate in Eastern European Cultures.
Vincenza D’Urso teaches Korean language and literature at Ca’ Foscari and was Director of the King Sejong Institute in Venice. For her translation work, she received the Grand Prize for Literary Translation from the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 2009. She has curated various events with prominent directors, including Lee Chang-dong and Kim Ki-duk.
Elisabetta Di Sopra, a video artist, lives and works in Venice. Her artistic research is particularly expressed through the use of video language to explore the most sensitive dynamics of daily life and its unspoken micro-stories, where the female body assumes a central role. She promotes video art through various exhibitions and galleries.
Cynthia Felando is the editor of *Short Film Studies*, a peer-reviewed academic journal. After earning her PhD at UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television, she worked as a programmer for art-house cinemas and film festivals. She is a senior lecturer in Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a visiting professor at UCLA. Her short film-related publications include the monograph *Discovering Short Films: The History and Style of Live-Action Fiction Shorts*; “Girls Rule in Sofia Coppola’s Lick the Star,” in *The Bloomsbury Handbook to Sofia Coppola*, edited by Suzanne Ferris; and “Spike Jonze Shorts Stories” in *The Films of Spike Jonze*, edited by Wyatt Moss-Wellington and Kim Wilkins.
Flavio Gregori is a Professor of English Literature at Ca’ Foscari University. His main research areas include the relationships between cinema and literature, as seen in the series of conferences on Kubrick and literature and the arts he has organized since 2000. Since 2009, he has co-directed the literary festival *Incroci di civiltà*, International Literary Encounters in Venice, where he currently serves as director. He has also directed the editorial series dedicated to cinema and literature for L’Epos publishers.
Keiko Kusakabe is a Japanese film and advertising producer and distributor, and President of Makotoya. She has produced many internationally acclaimed films, including works by Yoshihiko Matsushi, Hisayasu Sato, and especially Shinya Tsukamoto, such as the award-winning *Kotoko* (2011, Orizzonti Prize at the Venice International Film Festival).
Stefano Locati specializes in Asian cinema. He holds a PhD in Literatures and Media: Narrativity and Languages. Currently, he is a teaching assistant at IULM University. He co-authored *Il nuovo cinema di Hong Kong. Voci e sguardi oltre l’handover* (2014, with E. Sacchi), *Evolution. Darwin e il cinema* (2009, with E. Canadelli), and *La spada del destino. I samurai nel cinema giapponese dalle origini a oggi* (Luni Editrice, 2019).
Anton Giulio Mancino (Bari, 1968), former film critic and essayist, is an Associate Professor of Film History at the University of Macerata. A member of the National Union of Italian Film Critics (SNCCI), he served as trustee of the Puglia Group from 2012 to 2017. From 2001 to 2004 and 2009 to 2012, he was a selector for the International Critics' Week at the Venice Film Festival.
Laura Marcellino, a Ca’ Foscari graduate and an expert on the EU MEDIA Programme, has worked in international film markets and festivals for 30 years. She has overseen production, distribution, subtitles, and retrospectives, and served as jury member, PR specialist, tutor, speaker, moderator, and translator. For 21 years, she organized the Venice Biennale Film Exhibition and directed its film market. She collaborates with the National Museum of Cinema-TorinoFilmLab and the Locarno Film Festival.
Carlo Montanaro is the author of numerous critical essays and has contributed to organizing major cultural events. He is one of the principal organizers of *Le Giornate del Cinema Muto* in Pordenone. He was Director of the Venice Academy of Fine Arts and, since 2010, President of the Italian Association for Cinema History Research. He is also the owner of the Carlo Montanaro Archive and founder of “La fabbrica del vedere.”
Elena Pollacchi (PhD, Cam.) teaches Chinese Film History at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Since 2010, she has curated the Asian section of the Trondheim Film Festival in Norway. She is currently a correspondent for Chinese and Korean cinema at the Venice International Film Festival. Her research focuses on contemporary Chinese cinema and the development of Chinese film production and distribution, including within international festivals.
Andrijana Ružić graduated in Art History and Criticism from the University of Milan and specialized in Animation Film History under the guidance of Giannalberto Bendazzi. As an independent scholar, she has participated in numerous international animation studies conferences, presenting the works of various independent animation authors. She is a member of the Animafest Scanner Scientific Committee, the international symposium on contemporary animation studies held annually during the Animafest World Festival of Animated Film in Zagreb, Croatia. She writes about animation and visual arts for the Belgrade weekly *Vreme*, the Croatian magazine *Hrvatski filmski ljetopis*, and the French animation magazine *Blinkblank*. She is the author of the book *Michael Dudok de Wit – A Life in Animation* (CRC Focus).
