Department of
Economics

Seminars

The Department of Economics has always firmly believed in seminar activities as an instrument of interaction and dissemination of research results.

This is why we have a long, well-developed tradition of seminars, which are divided into different categories:

  • the Economics seminars are regularly held by distinguished professors and researchers from universities and research institutes worldwide;
  • the Internal seminars are dedicated to presenting research activities conducted by members of the Department of Economics and guests of Ca’ Foscari University. These guests can include researchers from other Departments, PhD students, visiting scholars and visiting professors;
  • the Job Market seminars are reserved for young researchers recruited through EconJobMarket®, who are later invited to apply for available research positions at the Department;
  • the NEAT (North-Eastern Applied Theory) seminars, which focus on economic theory and theory-driven applications and experiments, are organised by faculty members based at the University of Padua and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

Economics seminars

A weekly appointment to promote the academic exchange of research ideas and dissemination of results, the Economic Seminars Series hosts international scholars invited every Monday to talk about their ongoing research in various fields of Economics.

Internal seminars

Held every Wednesday at lunchtime, this Series provides the opportunity for Faculty, Post-docs, PhD Students and Visitors to present and discuss informally their ongoing research.

Job Market seminars

Selected international EconJobMarket® candidates are invited for their fly-out at the Department, an opportunity to present their research and meet the Faculty.

NEAT seminars

Economic theory and theory-driven applications are the focus for scholars, post-docs and PhD students to present their research activities.
