Outcomes

Programme and study plan

Students selected for the double degree programme in European Computer Science will have to acquire at Ca’ Foscari the 120 credits envisaged by the study plan (European Computer Science curriculum) for the first two years of enrolment by the last available exam session prior to the departure.

Furthermore, within the departure, selected students will have to achieve a B2 level proficiency of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in the language of instruction of the university where they will carry out their mobility. Selected students will have 12 credits replaced in their study plan with a 12 credits language course in the required language. Any language certifications do not replace the need to obtain these credits before departure.

For more information, please contact the Educational programmes office of the Department: didattica.dais@unive.it.

The course programmes for the mobility period at the Partner Universities are available on the following website: http://ecs.dc.turkuamk.fi/.

Mobility period

Students selected for the following destinations:

  • Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Hamburg, Germany)
  • Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Coimbra, Portugal)
  • University of Lorraine (Nancy, France)
  • West University of Timișoara (Timișoara, Romania)

will carry out one academic year of mobility during the 3rd year of enrolment.

Students selected for Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku, Finland) will carry out two academic years of mobility during the 3rd and 4th years of enrolment.

Students selected for the University of Burgos (Burgos, Spain) may choose to:

  • either carry out only one academic year of mobility during the 3rd year of enrolment, leading to the award of an Advanced studies degree;
  • or carry out two academic years of mobility during the 3rd and 4th year of enrolment, leading to the award of a Bachelor of Science degree.

Tuition fees and mobility grant

Selected students are required to pay tuition fees to Ca' Foscari for the entire duration of the programme and will benefit from total exemption from the payment of tuition fees at the partner University.

For 4-year programmes, students are required to pay tuition fees at Ca' Foscari also for the 4th year.

For the period of mobility abroad, selected students will benefit from a mobility grant, as provided for in the DJD Call for applications.

For the students selected for destinations that involve two academic years of mobility, the mobility grant will be guaranteed for both years.

Mobility procedures

Before departing for the mobility, selected students will be required to:

  • complete the registration/application procedure at the receiving institution according to the methods and within the deadlines set by the Partner University;
  • sign the grant agreement that regulates the disbursement of the mobility grant;
  • fill out the Learning Agreement, listing all the educational activities to be carried out at the Partner University and identifying the equivalences with the courses included in the Ca' Foscari study plan, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.

Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.

After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).

If the students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.

Before returning from the mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.

As soon as available, students must send to the Welcome Unit (International Office) the Transcript of records issued by the Host University, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad.

The exams reported in the Transcript of records must correspond to those agreed upon in the Learning Agreement and any subsequent variation forms.

Graduation

Students will complete their studies at the Host University according to the deadlines and procedures established by the Partner University.

Once the degree has been obtained, students must inform the Welcome Unit (International Office) by sending:

  • Bachelor’s degree final diploma or graduation certificate;
  • complete transcript of records;

issued by the Partner University. Moreover, they will also be required to communicate:

  • the exact date of graduation;
  • the name of the thesis supervisor and possible co-supervisor(s).

The Welcome Unit will start the procedure for the recognition of all the credits obtained abroad, including the graduation. Once the recognition is completed, the Ca' Foscari student profile will be closed from the back office without the need to formally submit a graduation request.

Starting from 2021/2022 a.y., a bonus point will be added to the final exam grade for students who obtained at least 12 ECTS abroad during a double degree mobility.

Students who enrolled in a double or joint degree programme before 2021/22 a.y. will not receive bonuses for activities or internships carried out abroad. However, they will have the right to receive the "speed" bonus. More information is available here: Characteristics and assessment of final exam.
