Below are the instructions for the acceptance of the place in the ranking by the successful candidates for the purposes of enrollment in the PhD courses. For years following the first, please refer to the page on how to register for subsequent years.
It is possible to jointly attend two PhD courses in the case of international agreements.
In all other cases, simultaneous enrollment in different Italian or foreign universities, or university and equivalent institutes, and in different courses of study of the same university is prohibited (Royal Decree 31 August 1933 n. 1532, art. 142).
Furthermore, if you are a research grant holder, you cannot be enrolled in doctoral courses with a scholarship, in Italy or abroad (Law no. 240 of 30 December 2010, art. 22). If winners of a place with a scholarship, the contract must be terminated before the first installment of the scholarship is paid.
If you are enrolled in a course of study and want to enroll in another course for which simultaneous enrollment is not envisaged, you can avail yourself of the interruption, according to the provisions of specific national or individual University regulations, or proceed with the closure career by withdrawing from studies before enrolling in the second course.
Within three working days from the publication of the final shortlist on the university website, successful candidates must pay enrolment fees or will be excluded.
By the same deadline, successful candidates must also complete the online enrolment procedure available here (please access the Personal Area as explained in the Call - Art. 10 - Accepting the place and enrolment).
At this stage candidates will be required to enclose:

Tuition fees must be paid online through PagoPA by logging in your Personal Area on the website www.unive.it under the entry “Pagamenti” (payments).
The above-mentioned procedures (pre-enrolment and payment of tuition fees) are mandatory for the acceptance of the PhD position. Candidates who fail to complete these procedures will be automatically excluded from the enrolment in the chosen PhD program.
In case of withdrawal, within three working days from the date of publication of the shortlist, successful candidates should send an e-mail stating their intention to withdraw to the following email address: postlauream@unive.it. After this deadline, or in the absence of clear communication of withdrawal, candidates will be deemed as dismissed.
In any case, the enrolment fees will never be refunded.
The enrolment procedure will be completed by the Postgraduate Administration.
For students residing in non-EU countries, enrolment will be finalized only after they have obtained a visa.
Each candidate will receive by e-mail a reminder of the enrolment.
The Counseling and Welcome Unit will furthermore provide support to successful candidates with non-Italian citizenship, for activities such as obtaining an entry visa, a residence permit, the codice fiscale (Tax code), the registration for INPS (welfare services), and general welcome to the university.
Within a month from the beginning of the program, PhD students awarded a PhD scholarship will have to register for the ‘Gestione Separata INPS’ (the ‘Separately Managed Italian Social Security Fund’). It is strongly recommended to start the registration process in advance because, if a new Personal Access Code (PIN) is required, the procedure may take a long time.
