Objectives and functions

The Equal Opportunities, Employees’ Well-being and Inclusion Committee (CUG) was created at Ca' Foscari in 2015 (references: art. 23, Ca’ Foscari Statute, art. 57 law no. 165/2001, Department of Pubblic administration and equal opportunities directives (4 march, 2011 and Directive 2/2019 [ITA]).

It oversees and coordinates all that is done to combat any form of discrimination and violence within our University, and therefore also deals with gender equality, with the aim of promoting equal opportunities, respect and wellbeing at work for anyone in our community: students, faculty, technical and administrative staff.

The Committee promotes various initiatives and it is also intended to prevent mobbing taking place in the University.

The CUG works closely with our University’s Trusted advisor.

Strategic actions of the University

Pubblications

The Committee also edits a series of publications, issued by Edizioni Ca' Foscari: “Ricerche su genere e inclusione tra accademia e società” (“Research on gender and inclusion between academia and society”)

The series "Research on gender and inclusion between academia and society" was born on the initiative of the Equal Opportunities, Employees’ Well-being and Inclusion Committee (CUG) of the Ca' Foscari University.
It collects research and studies relating to the issue of gender differences, from an intersectional perspective. The series deals with a wide range of topics, from gender inequalities to equal opportunity policies, from multiple and intersectional discriminations to their contrast, according to different research and disciplinary approaches.
It aims to explore these themes in the working context, with specific attention also to the academic field. The series therefore addresses issues such as access to work, treatment and working conditions, professional training, safety at work, organizational well-being, the conciliation between professional and personal life and the issue of gender violence in the workplace.
These themes correspond to some of the most current study and research debates in the field of human and social sciences, to which this series will be dedicated. It enhances the contamination between academia and society and will have as its object both the analysis of social and policy interventions and the theoretical discussion.

Events and initiatives

The Committee also participates, co-finances and organizes cultural initiatives and events, to promote equal opportunities and inclusion within the Ca' Foscari community.

Trusted advisor

Since 1st September 2010 Francesca Torelli (e-mail  consigliera.fiducia@unive.it) is the Trusted Advisor for prevention of harassment.

In order to protect all employees and students and at the same time give continuity to the service, we inform you that the Trusted Advisor - specialised in providing trained assistance in case of moral or sexual harassment, discrimination or other situations of discomfort - is also available to provide assistance via Skype, WhatsApp video call or Hangouts (application available for Gmail users).

Asking for help to the Counsellor is the more effective the earlier it occurs. In particular, it can prevent critical episodes that are not correctly managed right from the start, avoiding from turning them into serious critical issues. The Trusted advisor supplies free advice and support to any member of the Ca’ Foscari community who have experienced discrimination, abuse, injury to their dignity, or mobbing.

To ask for an appointment, send an e-mail to the address  consigliera.fiducia@unive.it (indicative response times: 2 days), indicating preferred day and time for the interview.
