BIPs

The Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) [ITA] are a new type of mobility in the frame of Erasmus+, with the following characteristics: 

• short teaching programmes (5 to 30 days), intensive and innovative;
• combination of a virtual component and a short-term physical mobility;
• providing at least 3 ECTS;
• participation of students and staff from different countries;
• collaborative working methods.

Why should you attend a BIP?

• it provides students with fewer opportunities – including economic disadvantage – with the possibility to experience international mobility with a lower effort in terms of time and resources;
• to develop soft skills and learn more about topics that can enrich your CV;
• to obtain a daily financial contribution for the mobility in addition to a travel contribution.

How to participate

Ca’ Foscari University of Venice has decided to join for a.y. 2023/2024 to 4 BIPs organised by University of Babes-Bolyai, located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, a partner institution in the frame of the European University EUTOPIA. 

Babes-Bolyai is the biggest and most ancient university in Romania, with an academic community counting around 50,000 people. Study areas range from Arts and Humanities to Social Sciences, Life Sciences and Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Information Technology, Engeneering and Technology. The institution has always pursued multiculturalism and the interaction with the local community. In the frame of the EUTOPIA alliance it actively cooperates with Ca’ Foscari and the other partners especially as far as mobility is concerned, and in particular in the frame of BIPs, on which it has acquired a vast experience.

Procedures for students selected for a BIP during a.y. 2023/2024

The description of the following procedures is addressed to students officially selected for a mobility in the frame of a BIP.
Procedures and documents might be subject to change. Students are invited to che their institutional e-mail account (studentnumber@stud.unive.it) and this page regularly.
Failing to comply with the procedures described below or in the Call or communicated via e-mail might result, in the most significant cases, in the cancellation of the mobility and the revocation of the grant already received.

Before the departure

• after Ca’ Foscari has officially submitted your nomination to the host institution, follow the instructions concerning a possible application procedure required by the host institution or communicated by  bip@unive.it
• check that your ID or passport are valid for the entire mobility period. Some non-EU countries participating in the Programme require an entry visa, which must be applied for in advance at the host country’s embassy/consulate in Italy. For more information, please see www.viaggiaresicuri.it [ITA]
• if you are a non-EU citizen, make sure well in advance that you hold all the travel documents required to enter and stay in the country of your mobility, by contacting the host institution to receive information concerning the necessary documents, and to  hold a valid Italian stay permit when you return to Italy. The Immigration Team is available for support on the matter ( immigrationteam@unive.it).
• contact your local health authority (ASL) to find out if your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) entitles you to healthcare in your chosen destination country or whether you need supplementary health insurance. For detailed information on all countries see the website of the Ministry of Health [ITA]
• make sure that your CartaConto is activated
• sign the Grant Agreement according to the procedures and timing communicated via e-mail by  bip@unive.it
• fill in the Learning Agreement form provided by your host institution or by  bip@unive.it
• register at www.viaggiaresicuri.it [ITA] and inquire about the general standard of safety of your destination.  
• sign and send to  bip@unive.it the disclaimer for international mobility students that you can find attached
• make accomodation and travel arrangements

Before your return

• ask the host institution to sign the conformation of Stay that you can find attached

Confirmation of stay

Upon return from your mobility period

• send your mobility certificate and your transcript of records (if applicable) issued by the host institution via e-mail to  bip@unive.it
• complete the credit recognition procedure, by filling in the form that you will receive from  bip@unive.it
• fill in the Participant Report - EU SURVEY that you will receive via e-mail, required in order to receive the final instalment of the grant.
• in order to allow the International Office - Mobility Unit to submit the Final Report of the Programme, you must send all the documentation regarding your mobility by 11/08/2024.
