Data Protection Officer (DPO)

Duties and responsibilities

  • inform and provide advice to the Data Controller, the Data Officer as well as to employees who conduct data processing in accordance with obligations arising from GDPR, as well as other national or EU data protection provisions;
  • monitor compliance with GDPR, with other national or EU provisions relating to data protection and with the policies of data controllers or data officers regarding the protection of personal data, including the attribution of responsibilities, raising awareness and training of personnel involved in data processing and related monitoring activities;
  • provide, if requested, an opinion on the impact assessment regarding data protection and monitor its performance in accordance with Article 35 of GDPR;
  • cooperate with the Data Protection Authority regarding the protection of personal data;
  • act as a point of contact with the Authority for the protection of personal data for issues related to processing, including the prior consultation referred to in Article 36, and carry out, where appropriate, consultations on any other matter;
  • maintain the register of data processing activities under the responsibility of the Data Controller.
