PTA - Segretaria di Dipartimento

Let’s talk about you: what is your background, what do you teach, and what are your research interests?
I’m Silvia Lovatti and I’ve been the Department Executive Officer of the Department of Economics since 2018. I am particularly interested in topics such as company structure and business process management.

Tell us about your academic path.
After graduating in Management Engineering I started working in the private sector, and then I joined Ca’ Foscari in 2002. At first I worked as a course manager  in Treviso (2002 - 2008), then in 2011 I was transferred to Venice to work on the Sustainable Ca' Foscari project. I then became the Executive Officer of the SELISI Centre in Treviso, before switching to my current role in 2018.

Have you always known that this was going to be your path?
Not really. At first I was more interested in the private sector and in gaining work experience abroad. Then I decided I wanted to work in this environment, hoping to contribute to its innovation.

What does working at Ca’ Foscari and in this Department mean to you?
Working at Ca’ Foscari means making a joint effort to make administration procedures more efficient and functional, in keeping with administrative constraints. It means creating rules that are based on the needs of students and teaching staff.
