Let’s talk about you: what is your background, what do you teach, and what are your research interests?
I’m Roberto Roson,  professor at the Department of Economics of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and at Universidad Loyola, in Spain.

Tell us about your academic path.
I earned a PhD in Economics at the University of Umea, in Sweden. I was lucky enough to enter the research world at Ca’ Foscari when I was quite young, so I’ve already spent a few years here. In 2018 I became a member of the teaching staff at Universidad Loyola Andalucía.
My main focus is on macroeconomic models of general balance. I’m very active on this subject within an international research network (GTAP), that is related to Purdue University.

What are you most passionate about in your field of research?

I am passionate about research because it offers great organisational and creative freedom to individuals. In my own research I have prioritised studying economic systems as complex organisms, trying to put to use my knowledge in order to offer answers to real-life questions on economic policy.
