The double degree programme, jointly designed by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Higher School of Economics - Moscow, offers students the opportunity to pursue an international study path by attending courses at the partner University during the first semester of the second year and obtaining a double academic degree upon completion of the programme.

To participate in the programme, applicants must apply in the academic year preceding their enrollment in the course and have a Russian language proficiency at least at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). An official language certification is not required, but the language proficiency level will be assessed during the selection interview.

Students can apply for the programme following the procedures and deadlines outlined in the Call for applications and its annexes, which are published annually.

Selected students will spend one academic semester at the Higher School of Economics - Moscow during the 1st semester of their 2nd year of the master’s degree in Language Sciences.
At the moment, only online mobilities to Russia are allowed. Before the start of their mobility, students will be informed on how the mobility will be carried out and on the possibility to benefit from a mobility grant.
During the mobility period, students must take exams for a total of 30 ECTS credits, to be agreed upon with the programme academic coordinators at both Universities. These credits will be recognized at Ca’ Foscari as part of the study plan.

Selected students are required to pay tuition fees to Ca' Foscari for the entire duration of the programme and will benefit from total exemption from the payment of tuition fees at the partner University.
For the mobility period, students will benefit from a mobility grant with a variable amount, as defined annually in the Calls for Applications. In the case of virtual mobility, the mobility grant is not provided.

Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.
After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).
If the students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.
Before returning from the mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.
As soon as available, students must send to the Welcome Unit (International Office) the Transcript of records issued by the Host University, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad.
The exams reported in the Transcript of records must correspond to those agreed upon in the Learning Agreement and any subsequent variation forms.
Students will complete the programme at Ca’ Foscari, following the deadlines indicated in the dedicated web page: Thesis and final degree exam | Deadlines, admission and procedures.
Students will write a co-supervised thesis with professors from both Universities. The thesis will be written in Italian, Russian, or English, with a summary (avtopeferat) in Russian.
The topic of the master's thesis must be agreed upon with the supervisor from Ca' Foscari. The co-supervisor from the partner University will submit a thesis report and a written evaluation to the Graduation Committee.
For the identification of the co-supervisor and further details on the procedures and type of thesis, students are advised to contact the programme coordinator, Dr. Pavel Duryagin, well in advance.
Once the Italian degree has been obtained, students must inform the Welcome Unit, which will handle the submission of the necessary documentation to the partner University to initiate the diploma issuance process.
Both diplomas will be legally recognized in their respective issuing countries.
