Calls and forms

Programme and study plan

Selected students will spend one academic year at the partner University during the 2nd year of the master's degree.

Educational activities to be carried out at the partner Universities should be agreed upon in advance with the programme’s academic coordinator, Prof. Roland Hinterhölzl, according to the course equivalence table provided below.

Exams taken abroad will be recognised in the Ca’ Foscari study plan at the end of the mobility period.

For more information about the study plan, students can contact the programme’s academic coordinator or the Department’s Educational Programmes office: didattica.dslcc@unive.it.

Tuition fees and mobility grant

Selected students are required to pay tuition fees to Ca' Foscari for the entire duration of the programme and will benefit from total exemption from the payment of tuition fees at the partner University.

If students are unable to complete the programme within the two-year duration, they may be required to pay a fee for enrolling in an additional semester at the partner University. More information can be found in the “Graduation” section of this webpage.

For the mobility period, students will benefit from a mobility grant with a variable amount, as defined annually in the Calls for Applications.

Selected students may apply and compete for an additional grant (so-called DAAD scholarship) provided by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst. More information is available on the following webpage: Scholarships & Funding.

Mobility procedures

Before departing for the mobility, selected students will be required to:

  • complete the registration/application procedure at the receiving institution according to the methods and within the deadlines set by the Partner University;
  • sign the grant agreement that regulates the disbursement of the mobility grant;
  • fill out the Learning Agreement, listing all the educational activities to be carried out at the Partner University and identifying the equivalences with the courses included in the Ca' Foscari study plan, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.

Further information will be provided by the Welcome Unit (International Office) upon completion of the selection process and after formal acceptance of the offer.

After reaching the destination, students will have to get the confirmation of arrival form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual start date of the mobility period (orientation/welcome activities or educational activities).

If the students intend to make changes to the study plan agreed upon before departure, it is possible to complete a Learning Agreement variation form, which must be approved by the academic coordinators of the programme at Ca' Foscari and at the Host University.

Before returning from the mobility, students will have to get the confirmation of departure form signed by the Partner University, to certify the actual end date of the mobility period.

As soon as available, students must send to the Welcome Unit (International Office) the Transcript of records issued by the Host University, i.e. the certificate listing all the exams they passed during the mobility abroad.

The exams reported in the Transcript of records must correspond to those agreed upon in the Learning Agreement and any subsequent variation forms.

Graduation

Students will graduate at the partner University, following the procedures and complying with the deadlines set by the partner University.

However, if students are unable to complete the programme within the two-year duration, they will be given the opportunity to choose between:

  • graduating in Frankfurt, paying the fees for enrolment in an additional semester at the host Institution;
  • or returning to Venice and graduating at Ca’ Foscari.

Once students have achieved their diploma at the partner University, they will have to inform the Welcome Unit sending the following:

  • Graduation Certificate or certificate of completion;
  • Complete Transcript of Records

issued by the partner University. At the same time, students should also communicate:

  • exact date of graduation;
  • name of supervisor and, where applicable, co-supervisor.

After receiving the documentation needed, the Welcome Unit will start the credits recognition process, including the final examination. Once the recognition process is completed, the Ca’ Foscari career will be closed from back office. Students are not required to submit any graduation request.

Students who decide to graduate at Ca’ Foscari must submit a regular graduation request and follow the procedure and deadlines indicated in the dedicated webpage: Thesis and final degree exam | Deadlines, admission and procedures

Once they have obtained the Italian degree, students must inform the Welcome Unit, which will send the necessary documentation to the partner University to initiate the process for the issuance of the German degree.

Both diplomas will be recognized in the country of issuance.

A bonus point will be added to the final exam grade for students who participated in a double or joint degree programme. More information is available at the following webpage: Characteristics and assessment of final exam.
