The Aula Mario Baratto is one of the most beautiful rooms of Ca’ Foscari, and used to be an Aula Magna and a classroom of the university. The unique panoramic view it offers on the Grand Canal is highlighted by Carlo Scarpa’s interpretation of the gothic polifora - the traditional Venetian windows - in his restoration of the room.

The Venetian architect also designed the boiserie in the adjacent room which can host refreshments, as well as the peculiar mobile wood paneling, whereas the two frescoes were created by Mario Sironi and Mario De Luigi. The historical and architectural value of the room makes it the ideal space for high-level institutional and cultural initiatives.
