Alessandro Mistrorigo is Associate Professor at the Department of Comparative Linguistic and Cultural Studies. From 2008 to 2012 he was Visiting Research Fellow at Queen Mary College of the University of London, carrying out research and teaching. During the same period he also taught at London Metropolitan University and Royal Holloway. He specializes in 20th and 21st century Spanish poetry. He is the author of the monographs «Diálogos del conocimiento» di Vicente Aleixandre. Il potere della parola poetica (Siviglia: Rinascimento, 2015) and La narrativa breve de Vicente Soto. Una aproximación (Valladolid: Difácil, 2020), as well as articles on the work of Spanish poets such as Claudio Rodríguez, Leopoldo María Panero, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Luisa Castro, Juan Vicente Piqueras, Mariano Peyrou, etc. He is a literary translator from Spanish: for Sinopia he translated the poetic collections Hagion Oros (2007), Quartine (2008), Versi liberi per Venezia (2010) and Il colore dell'Egeo (2014) by the Colombian poet Armando Romero, the short essay Il regno dell’esilio (2011) by the Venezuelan author Marina Gasparini Lagrage and, editing it, the anthology Racconti del dispatrio (2022) by Vicente Soto. For Passigli he translated Rumore occulto. Poems 1946-2006 (2018) by Spanish poet Pablo García Baena and, for Fili d'Aquilone, Bestiario (2021) by Spanish poet Virginia Navalón. His research activity addresses the phenomenon of the voice in the reading of poets in relation to the creative process and digital technologies. He curates the Phonodia project (http://phonodia.unive.it/), an online archive where it is possible to listen to the recordings of numerous poets of various nationalities reading some of their poems from which the book Phonodia. La voz de los poetas, uso crítico de sus grabaciones y entrevistas (Veneza: Edizioni Ca' Foscari 2018). His other research interests are the condition of "dispatrio" in the Hispanic world and the interaction between image and writing in the poetic experiments of the second avant-garde (e.g. concrete and visual poetry).
