Eugenia Liosatou (New York, 1979) graduated in Literature from the University of Crete (2002). She received a Masters degree in Medieval History from Ca'Foscari University of Venice (2007), a Diploma in TFA concerning Teacher Training of Modern Greek Language and Culture (2013) and a PhD in Modern Languages, Cultures and Societies (Modern Greek) (2015) from the same University.
She was Lecturer of Modern Greek Language at the University of Padua (2009-2010) and Tutor at Ca' Foscari University of Venice (2012-2013). She has been Lecturer of Modern Greek at Ca’ Foscari since 2013. She also held a Linguistic Laboratory “Introduction in Modern Greek” at the University of Naples L'Orientale (2016-2018).
She is Coordinator of the Examination Center of Ca’Foscari University in collaboration with Center of Greek Language of Thessaloniki (ΚΕΓ), adviser for students BA/MA Thesis, examination Committee Member and Erasmus students assistant. She collaborated with the Student association of ‘Ca’Foscariελληνικά’ (2013-2017) and  she has been  Coordinator for the European Day of Languages since 2013.
Her research interests are focused on teaching Greek Language as a foreign, the evolution of Greek Language and the interaction between Ancient and Modern Greek (etymological analysis) and Lexicography. She is also interested in the historical and linguistic connection between Venice and Morea, the Ionian Islands and Crete during the Venetian Domination in those territories and Modern Greek Literature.
 
She collaborated in the following research projects:
PCTO “It’s not  Greek to me”: Introduction of Modern Greek Language” (2020-2022); Erasmus+Strategic Partnership, “ArchaeoSchool for the Future: a sustainability approach (Italy, Greece, Spain)” in order to coordinate handbook and languages learning material, language courses, events (2015-2018); “The Greek Language in the Veneto schools between Antiquity and Future”, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Lyceum ‘M. Foscarini’ of Venice, in collaboration with 13 Classical Lyceums of Veneto (2010-2013); educational project coordinated by ex IRRE of Veneto, Ca’ Foscari University and the Historical Greek Orthodox Community of Venice (2007-2008); Research activity at the Department of Italian Studies and Romance Philology of Ca’Foscari (2007-2008).
