He is the author of two monographs and articles in Italian and foreign journals, mostly class A ones. He has also participated in national and international conferences, also as an invited speaker. He has collaborated in various capacities with research projects in Italy (including FIRB 2008 and PRIN 2009, 2010-2011, and 2017) and abroad (ISCH COST; Proyecto de excelencia 2017; Proyectos de I+D+i 2020).

He is a member of the scientific committee of the journal "Lingvarum varietas" the study series "Quaderni di AION-Linguistica", "Ariodante - Linguistica ed epigrafia dell'Italia antica" (Università degli Studi di Perugia), and "Antropologia culturale, etnologia, etnolinguistica" (Aracne editrice).

In 2014 he was co-opted as a member of the Società Italiana di Glottologia and in 2021 he was elected as a correspondent member of the Istituto di Studi Etruschi e Italici.

In 2017 he was awarded by the European Commission the Seal of Excellence H2020-MSCA-IF-2016.
