I completed my PhD in Sociology and Social Research (University of Verona) in 2009.
In 2021 I obtained the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for the qualification of Associate Professor, sector General Sociology.

My main research interests are:
- welfare systems from a comparative perspective;
- issues related to the governance and evaluation of social policies at regional, national and European levels, with particular attention to the issues of ageing, family and migrants.

In the research activity, I have mainly worked in interdisciplinary teams (economists, psychologists, statisticians, pedagogists), adopting a mixed methods approach with the integration of quantitative and qualitative techniques.

In addition to academic activity, I have carried out consultancy and research for national and international bodies including:
- Observatory of Expenditure and Public Policies-Regional Council of Veneto;
- ISTAT-National Institute of Statistics;
- European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA);
- OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

Since 2010, I have been teaching in bachelor's and master's degree courses. I also carried out teaching activities abroad as part of the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility for Academic Staff programs.

I was a member of the Scientific Council of the Social Policy section of the Italian Association of Sociology (AIS) in two mandates (2016-2018, 2019-21) and Head of the Social Area of the Economics Living Lab, a spin-off of the University of Verona (2017-2022).

I am a member of the Scientific Committee Learning, Education and Active Ageing, established for the Research Program "Age-It Ageing Well in an Ageing Society", funded by the European Union - Next Generation EU and I participate in the activities and projects of the European Network on Ageing Studies (ENAS), affiliated to the North American Network on Ageing Studies (NANAS).

Currently, I am involved in a global team participating in the "Age-Friendly Cities Framework", supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), for the validation of The Age-Friendly Cities and Communities Questionnaire (AFCCQ).
