Owais Khan is an Assistant Professor at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.

He obtained a joint PhD in Sustainability Management from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies and in Environmental Sciences and Technology from Ghent University. He obtained M.Sc. in Environmental and Energy Management from the University of Twente and B.S. in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology from the University of Karachi.

His research interests include, but are not limited to, circular economy, waste management, industrial symbiosis, sustainable tourism, sustainable procurement, organizational behavior, material flow analysis (MFA), life cycle assessment (LCA), etc.

His publications appeared in various reputable journals such as Business Strategy and the Environment; Journal of Sustainable Tourism; Journal of Cleaner Production; Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management; Resources, Conservation and Recycling; Journal of Management and Sustainability.

Before joining the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Management – Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies. He also has worked in the chemical, textile, and steel industries.

He has contributed to various EU projects such as TOURISME Project (EU COSME Programme), GREEN COACH Project (EU Erasmus+ Programme), LIFE TACKLE Project (EU LIFE Programme), and PlastiCity Project (EU Interreg 2 Seas Programme).
