Arseniy Petrov is a visiting professor at Ca'Foscari University.
After defending his thesis at Lomonosov Moscow University, he worked at the Moscow Kremlin Museums in 2009-2013. In his dissertation and subsequent scientific work at the museum, he studied the iconography of Byzantine and Old Russian church embroideries and banners. Co-author of the catalog of icons of the Annunciation Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. In the museum he worked in the scientific editorial department, where he edited scientific catalogs. The most interesting was the work on the catalog of Byzantine antiquities prepared by Irina Sterligova.
In 2013, moved to work at the Russian State University for the Humanities, where he began teaching courses on the history of ancient Russian and Byzantine art.
Gradually, the sphere of science shifted to the field of architecture, and specifically the architectural relations of Byzantium, Ancient Rus' (Kyiv, and then the Moscow period) and Byzantium. In 2016, as a lecturer, he received a research grant on this topic from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which he implemented at the Ca'Foscari University.
Currently, the sphere of scientific interests includes contemporary Russian art, its reaction to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
