My Story in Brief

Graduated in Communication Sciences (Journalism focus) from the University of Trieste in 2005, journalist, since 2013 has been working in the Communication and Promotion Office at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, developing research communication and media relations. Co-creator of the European H2020 project "Quality and effectiveness in science and technology communication (QUEST)," he served as a work package leader, particularly focusing on training and policy (see publications). Since 2017, he has organized the Research Communication Week. In 2021, he earned an executive master’s degree in Information Architecture and User Experience Design from IULM University. Since May 2024, he has been a member of the management committee of the ECHO - Science Communication Hub, which he helped to establish.

Network

He has been registered with the Journalists' Association of Veneto since 2003 and has been an associate member of Science Writers in Italy since 2014. He is also a member of the Italian University Communicators Association (AICUN) and the deputy national representative for Italy in the European association EUPRIO. He is among the founders of the volunteer association Logon.

Professional Path

From 2001, he collaborated as a journalist for seven years with a local newspaper, covering general news, judicial affairs, environment, politics, sports, and culture. From 2008 to 2011, he managed press office activities, sports communication, and events at the Zoppas Arena in Conegliano. He handled press office and communication, including television, for trade organizations, electoral campaigns, and sports events, experiences that led him in 2009 to become a partner at the information agency Obiettivo srl, providing photographic services to the media and communication services to companies and institutions. After a year in the United States, from 2013 to 2016, he collaborated with the Ca' Foscari University Foundation for the activities of the Communication Office at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, particularly focusing on research communication. Since 2017, he has continued this work as an employee of Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He was the first coordinator for the Media Relations Unit from 2020 to 2022.

Continuing Education

Over the years, he has continued his professional training, attending online and in-person courses in Italy and abroad, including as an auditor in 2012 at SISSA in Trieste as part of the Master in Digital Science Journalism (Data Journalism and Environmental Communication), in 2013 at Harvard Extension School (Cambridge, MA, USA – courses in Geographic Communication and Video Editing and Digital Design), and in 2014 and 2015 he was selected to participate with a fellowship at the Erice International School of Science Journalism. He regularly participates in training activities organized by the university and the Journalists' Association.
