The course is included among the basic courses of the Bachelor's degree in Literature and in History and it is characterized by objectives and teaching methods consistent with the Geography I course (Surnames A-L).
The course addresses the diversity, socio-economic and cultural, of the geographical spaces as a product of adaptation processes triggered by different environmental prerogatives. An interdisciplinary interpretive approach including the dimensions of geohistorical and physical-geographical research is proposed.
In connection with this approach, landscape, a key concept in the geographical sciences, is taken as a synthesis of the historical relations between society and the environment. Its values and the transformative pressures to which it is subjected are analyzed from a geohistorical perspective, with particular attention to long-term processes.
