Moreover, the course introduces the concept of business model, and analyzes how the choices that a firm makes in relation to the configuration of its business model can influence competitive advantage.
Expected learning outcomes
Attendance and active participation in the training activities proposed by the course (lectures, seminars from business representatives, group works) and individual study will enable students to:
- know the main models of the management of operations, and the meaning of the main types of business model
- know how to exemplify the main theoretical concepts related to operations management and business models;
- know how to apply the main indicators for the analysis of internal processes, and for the performance of business models;
- know how to determine the most appropriate method for analyzing the performance of production processes and of a firm’s business model.

Students who have not passed the Economia Aziendale exam cannot take the Gestione delle Imprese exam (modules 1 and 2)

Assessment methods
Students will be given the opportunity to integrate the grade of the final exam with group-works that will be presented in class.
There will be a single exam at the end of the module [ET0114-2] BUSINESS ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT-1 (approximately: 10 multiple choice questions, 2 points each question; one open question or exercise, 6 points, 1 exercise, 5 points). The test will last 1 hour.

Grading scale
A. Grades in the range of 18-22 will be awarded when the student demonstrates:
- sufficient knowledge of the course contents;
- limited capacity to understand and apply the acquired knowledge;
- sufficient communication skills, especially concerning the use of specific terminology relevant to the course.
B. Grades in the range of 23-26 will be awarded when the student demonstrates:
- fair knowledge of the course contents;
- fair capacity to understand and apply the acquired knowledge;
- fair communication skills, especially concerning the use of specific terminology relevant to the course.
C. Grades in the range of 27-30 will be awarded when the student demonstrates:
- good or excellent knowledge of the course contents;
- good or excellent capacity to understand and apply the acquired knowledge;
- fully appropriate communication skills, especially concerning the use of specific terminology relevant to the course.
D. The distinction "cum laude" will be awarded when the student demonstrates excellent knowledge and applied understanding of the course syllabus, along with outstanding judgment and communication skills.
