The course "English for Tourism" aims to develop advanced English language skills with a specific focus on the tourism sector. Students will acquire the necessary abilities to communicate effectively with international tourists, design itineraries, promote destinations, and handle typical situations in the tourism industry. Special emphasis will be placed on cultural awareness and sustainability in tourism.

1. Knowledge and Understanding: Acquire specialized vocabulary related to tourism, travel, and hospitality while understanding cultural and professional contexts.
2. Applying Knowledge and Understanding: Communicate effectively in English to provide information about tourist services, complete bookings, describe itineraries, and explain safety regulations.
3. Judgmental Skills: Critically analyze tourists' needs and propose suitable solutions to enhance customer experiences.
4. Communication Skills: Improve confidence when interacting with foreign visitors using clear and professional language.
5. Learning Skills: Design promotional materials such as brochures, websites, and advertisements by integrating linguistic skills with creativity.
No prerequisites are required.
1. Introduction to International Tourism: Types of tourism, tourist motivations, and major global destinations.
2. Tourism-Specific Vocabulary: Accommodation, transportation, dining services, tourist attractions, and safety regulations.
3. Intercultural Communication: Managing cultural differences when communicating with international tourists.
4. Tourism Marketing: Creating itineraries, writing brochures, and developing digital promotional strategies.
5. Sustainability in Tourism: Communicating sustainable practices to visitors and promoting responsible tourism.
6. Practical Simulations: Role-playing real-world scenarios (hotel check-ins, complaint management, guided tours).

The exam consists of a written test (duration of 60 minutes) that includes:
- A practical section,
- A multiple-choice section to assess knowledge of specific vocabulary and communication strategies learned during the course.

Based on performance during the written exam:
- 18–22 points: Basic knowledge of tourism vocabulary; limited written/oral communication skills.
- 23–26 points: Good understanding of course content; adequate communication skills.
- 27–30 points: Excellent language proficiency; strong application skills.
- 30L (Honors): Outstanding performance across all evaluated areas.
- Interactive lectures with practical exercises.
- Role-playing activities simulating professional scenarios in the tourism sector.
- Case studies on sustainable tourism destinations.
