COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS
-The learner acquires knowledge about how to ask for and provide basic information in class and in everyday life.
- They are able to make simple predictions, express basic emotions and needs, and communicate preferences through approval or disapproval.
- They know how to apologize, thank, and greet informally. Additionally, they are able to make an invitation and express a refusal.
- They are capable of understanding and producing very brief descriptions of objects, actions, or people, and formulating, both orally and in writing, basic reports of past events.
- They learn how to give and receive simple instructions and ask for information about the Italian language.

COMPREHENSION AND PRODUCTION OF ORAL AND WRITTEN TEXTS
- At the textual level, the learner is able to comprehend and produce short or very short informal texts.
- They become familiar mainly with oral texts presented in class (presentations, questions to the teacher, etc.), while in comprehension they are exposed to texts related to everyday situations (road signs, travel and admission tickets, etc.) and life abroad (identity documents, classified ads, etc.).
- They are able to produce very short dialogic texts (such as face-to-face or telephone conversations) and to comprehend dialogic texts designed for Italian L2 learners (e.g., educational videos).

VOCABULARY
- The learner acquires terms indicating the main types of housing, the most common family relationships, and the simplest emotions.
- They learn essential vocabulary for describing people, household objects, and basic kitchen terminology.
- They become familiar with words related to informal greetings, well-wishes, and expressions of thanks.
- They learn the terms for key moments of the day, days of the week, months, and seasons. - Regarding the public sphere, they learn words indicating the most common meeting and recreational places.
- They learn basic vocabulary related to means of transportation, documents, money, and colours.
- Finally, they acquire fundamental terminology related to the school environment.

The assessment of the learning path will be conducted through periodic intermediate tests of various types: factorial, lexical, morphosyntactic, or skills-based.

The exam format is tripartite.

A standardized test to be conducted in a multimedia laboratory, aimed at assessing and evaluating written and oral reception skills, as well as lexical and morphosyntactic competence.

A written production test to be taken in class (in-person and/or virtual) without aids. Students will write 2 pieces of written production based on prompts designed to assess and evaluate linguistic performance relative to their level of competence.

An oral production test to be conducted in class (in-person and/or virtual) without aids. Students will produce 2 oral presentations based on prompts of a dialogic and monologic nature, aimed at assessing and evaluating linguistic performance relative to their level of competence.
