Within the Master's Degree, this course is for students who need training in Arabic at an elementary level.
The course aims at providing students with the necessary tools to interpret and understand simple texts in Arabic, and to interact on an informal level. Students will learn the Arabic alphabet, elements of morphology, syntax, and lexicon. They will be able to introduce themselves and having short conversations on simple topics.

The course provides students with an overall beginner-level knowledge of the modern standard Arabic language, both written and spoken. It specifically offers:
• basic grammatical notions on nominal morphology (e.g. plurals), verbal (e.g. simple and derived forms of the verbs) and syntax (types of sentences, e.g. nominal/verbal ),
• application of the above knowledge for the development of active and passive skills and training for linguistic interaction in simple communicative contexts.

A written test and an oral test. The written test (without a dictionary) consists of exercises similar to those carried out during the course and aims to ascertain the skills acquired (writing, vocalization and translation skills from and to Arabic). Oral test: the students must demonstrate that he/she knows how to use the grammatical and communicative knowledge and skills acquired during the lectures.

B. Scores in the 23-26 range will be awarded in the presence of a fair knowledge of the main
authors and genres of Japanese literature from the historical periods covered.
C. Scores in the 27-30 range will be awarded in the presence of a good or excellent knowledge of
the main authors and genres of Japanese literature from the historical periods covered.
D. Honors will be awarded in the presence of an outstanding knowledge of the main authors and
genres of Japanese literature from the historical periods covered.

Per quanto riguarda la gradazione del voto, si assegneranno i punteggi secondo il seguente schema:
A. punteggi nella fascia 18-22 verranno attribuiti in presenza di: sufficiente conoscenza della
grammatica della lingua giapponese classica e sufficiente capacità di analizzare i testi proposti dal
punto di vista grammaticale e di renderli in traduzione;
B. punteggi nella fascia 23-26 verranno attribuiti in presenza di: discreta conoscenza della
grammatica della lingua giapponese classica e discreta capacità di analizzare i testi proposti dal punto
di vista grammaticale e di renderli in traduzione;
C. punteggi nella fascia 27-30 verranno attribuiti in presenza di buona o ottima conoscenza della
grammatica della lingua giapponese classica e buona o ottima capacità di analizzare i testi proposti
dal punto di vista grammaticale e di renderli in traduzione;
D. la lode verrà attribuita in presenza di eccellente conoscenza della grammatica della lingua
giapponese classica e eccellente capacità di analizzare i testi proposti dal punto di vista grammaticale
e di renderli in traduzione.

Regarding the grading scale, scores will be assigned according to the following criteria:
A. Scores in the 18-22 range will be awarded in the presence of a sufficient knowledge of Classical
Japanese grammar and a sufficient ability to analyze the given texts from a grammatical perspective
and render them in translation.
B. Scores in the 23-26 range will be awarded in the presence of a fair knowledge of Classical Japanese
grammar and a fair ability to analyze the given texts from a grammatical perspective and render
them in translation.
C. Scores in the 27-30 range will be awarded in the presence of a good or excellent knowledge of
Classical Japanese grammar and a good or excellent ability to analyze the given texts from a
grammatical perspective and render them in translation.
D. Honors will be awarded in the presence of an outstanding knowledge of Classical Japanese
grammar and an outstanding ability to analyze the given texts from a grammatical perspective and
render them in translation.
Audio-oral approach, focused on various pattern drills, duly contextualized within the framework of a didactic unit (globality, analysis, synthesis, reflection, control). The course includes lectures and individual exercises.
