This course aims to equip participants with the practical skills needed to craft an online presence and interact respectfully with peers and professionals in academic settings. Through a series of modules, learners will explore the principles of netiquette, understand the impact of their online behavior, and develop strategies to foster positive interactions in accordance with media conventions and constraints. The course also encourages students to explore digital branding and online reputation strategies by using AI tools appropriately.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the importance of netiquette and its role in online communication and academic settings
2. Identify key principles and guidelines for respectful and effective interactions
3. Apply netiquette principles in various digital media and genres, including email, social media, and professional networks
4. Understand and use appropriately Artificial Intelligence tools

Programme

1. Writing netiquette: history and key principles
2. How to develop your online reputation – digital branding across media
3. Setting the tone in online interaction and academic settings: email writing
4. Crafting an engaging social media presence: professional forms of digital writing
5. How AI is changing the digital landscape: creative copywriting and editing for specific purposes
The materials will be provided during the lessons and on Moodle.
Written exam (60 minutes) aimed at assessing the skills acquired. The exam will cover the digital text genres explored during the course.
Interactive lessons featuring cooperative learning in a blended format. Each lesson will include the following activities:

- Analysis of generic conventions and registers
- Writing and copy editing exercises

This subject deals with topics related to the macro-area "Human capital, health, education" and contributes to the achievement of one or more goals of U. N. Agenda for Sustainable Development
