Provide basic scientific knowledge on wave phenomena and show how the development of knowledge on human auditory perception is reflected in different fields, ranging from art to technology.
The student will understand the physical aspects of sounds, the sensory perception of sound and its processing into music.
Knowledge of the main concepts of arithmetic, algebra and trigonometry (at the secondary school level).
The physics of waves. What is sound, how waves interact with matter and get modified. The human perception of sound. The music and musical instruments.

The exam takes place through an oral exam. During the exam, the candidate will present a topic of his or her choice, then he or she will have to develop a topic proposed by the teacher. The grade is made up by assigning 15 points for each of the two parts of the exam.
Teaching is organized in frontal theoretical lectures and through small experiments, videos and images.
