To know how to assess environmental implications of energetic systems, and in particular climate change and the effects on human health and the environment.
To acquire basic knowledge on the assessment and management of environmental risks and impacts caused by energy production and consumption
To understand the contents of scientific literature on this topic
To properly communicate (both in Italian and in English) about the topic addressed in the course
Ability to understand scientific literature in Italian and English
Environmental risk and tools for its assessment
Environmental impacts and tolls for their assessment (e.g. Life Cycle Assessment, Carbon Footprint)
Studies on environmental impacts caused by the production and consumption of energy (students’ working groups and presentations; seminars).
Additional focus on environmental impacts and risks of energy systems
Compulsory:
Slides presented by the teacher and scientific publications, both uploaded in Moodle by the teacher.
Written exam consisting of 3 open questions to be answered in 2 hours (max 9.5 points each; 9.5=excellent; 8=very good; 7=good; 6=sufficient; 5=poor; 3=bad).
Evaluation of ppt presentations on specific topics prepared and presented by students during the course (max 4 points; of which max 1.5 for correctness; max 1.5 for clarity; max 1 for duration of the presentation compared to the assigned minutes).
