The course is suggested to first-year students keen to review basic math principles before starting the course MATHEMATICS FOR DECISION SCIENCES 1 of the Bachelor's Degree Programme in Digital Management.
This prep course offers the opportunity to brush up on the knowledge of some math basics, which often are taken for granted at the university level. This will allow students to revise their knowledge and take an easy and competent start to their university studies. Specifically, the module aims at reviewing basic math skills, acquired during the first 3-4 years of high school, to prepare students for the mathematics classes in the first term.
Knowledge and understanding
- Basic elements of logic and set theory;
- Properties of numbers (natural, integer, rational, real) and operations;
- Principles for solving polynomial, exponential, logarithmic equations and inequalities;
- Properties of elementary functions

Applied knowledge
- Handling of expressions with power elevation, exponential, and logarithm functions;
- Solving polynomial, exponential, logarithmic equations and inequalities;
- Graphing functions
Basic math principles of high school level.
Notions of logic: connectors and implications. Set theory: operations. Properties and operations with numbers (natural, integer, rational, real). Powers with integer exponents. Roots. Powers with rational exponents and with real exponents. Polynomial algebra. First and second-degree equations. First and second-degree inequalities. Equations and inequalities with terms in absolute value. Exponential and Logarithmic equations and inequalities. Systems of equations and inequalities. Cartesian coordinates in the plane.
