Contribution of the course to the overall degree programme goals
The teaching integrates the principles of narrative pedagogy and media education, recognizing narrative as a socio-cognitive device that mediates human development and learning. Students will acquire skills in the analysis and design of narrative practices, both in formal and informal educational contexts, developing a critical and reflective approach to the use of digital media in education.
The course is divided into two parts:
First part: introduction to the impact of digital media on the educational development of children and adolescents, with a focus on the role of narrative – digital and non-digital – in cognitive, emotional, social, and cultural processes.
Second part: practical workshops dedicated to educational and didactic design based on digital storytelling, with concrete applications in different learning contexts.
The course provides fundamental skills for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the use of digital storytelling in language education, promoting critical reflection on the use of digital media and technologies in educational processes.
