Pre-requirements
Contents
The course provides a brief overview of the history of Portuguese language literatures in a synthetic way in order to satisfy the needs of a preliminary approach to the knowledge of the category of Portuguese-speaking cultures. The course covers a time span that goes from medieval Iberian lyric poetry to the contemporary era. The course will be dedicated to the works of some of the most representative writers in the Portuguese-speaking context. On the one hand, the course will try to provide an in-depth study of the main literary themes and movements and on the other hand, analyze part of the work of the various writers cited, placing them in the historical context of literary movements. Information on the authors and a summary critical perspective will be provided, as well as texts in full or anthological version that will also be examined based on the information already given.
