The aim of the course is to illustrate the transition from Old Albanian Literature, inspired by the Catholic liturgy, to Modernism, inspired by the ideas of national independence, with special reference to the literary works of Naim Frasheri, founder of the Albanian national literature.

Knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and understanding of Albanian literary history of the late nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century.
Knowledge of the literary phenomena and contextualization within the framework of the society that produced them.
Knowledge and understanding of Frasheri’s works.

Applying knowledge and understanding
Understanding the issues and the evolutionary lines of the period examined.
Understanding Frasheri’s works and be able to use critical and methodological tools to analyze them.

Making judgments
Be able to evaluate and reflect on authors, themes and texts treated.

Communication skills
Be able to describe with terminological precision literary phenomena treated and know how to present them with adequate communication skills.

Learning ability
Be able to develop specific methodological tools in the study of the various materials.
Be able to critically consult books and references contained in them.
Knowledge of Albanian language
This course aims to examine the literary processes that developed between the late nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, marked by the historical and political context of the time and imbued with ideals of patriotism, freedom and independence. We will refer to the literary works of Naim Frasheri, considered the founder of the Albanian national literature.
