Contribution of the course to the overall degree programme goals
The achievement of these objectives allows the student to have the basis for learning foreign languages and cultures.
The course consists of a Professor’s module held in the first semester and a year round language practice course (“esercitazioni”).
Expected learning outcomes
During the course, the phonetic (stress and intonation), grammatical, lexical, pragmatic advanced level aspects, as well as communication strategies, of the Russian language at level B2+ of the CEFR will be studied.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
Use linguistic knowledge to understand long and complex literary and informational texts, speeches and authentic interactions (radio, video, film) and produce texts appropriate to the situations of use in writing and speaking.
Communicative Competences: /Communication skills
Using the Russian language (in oral and written forms) naturally, flexibly and effectively in social and professional relationships. The student must be able to express himself in a clear and structured way, exposing his point of view. Have mastery of a broad lexical repertoire relating to the intercultural field, as well as the terminology of linguistics to describe the phonetic, lexical, grammatical phenomena addressed in the teacher's module. Understand, analyse, interpret and translate complex texts of various types into the Russian language and be able to appreciate differences in style. These skills will be checked, guided and improved through the corrections of the exercises.
Making judgements:
Ability to autonomously implement strategies to strengthen one's own linguistic skills in the Russian language; use electronic resources for the study of the morphological and grammatical structures of the Russian language; find the bibliographic sources suggested by the teacher; be able to interpret and synthesize complex texts in a foreign language in a personal and effective way.
Learning skills:
The consolidated skills will allow graduates to independently carry out further study and research activities, as well as the ability to use advanced technological tools to select the most authoritative sources and to update their knowledge; be able to take notes pertinently and effectively; undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.

The course offers a specialized knowledge of the Russian grammar and of Russian Lexique. This course is used to improve students' confidence in speaking and writing.
