Contribution of the course to the overall degree programme goals
The objectives of the teaching are: analyze the epistemological identity of social pedagogy in the light of the ongoing debate, focusing, in particular, on its relationship with general pedagogy and intercultural pedagogy; develop itineraries for critical reflection on the models and strategies most suitable for responding to emerging needs in complex contemporary socio-political and cultural scenarios; promote new educational spaces marked by dialogue, encounter and, ultimately, a new idea of citizenship.

- Know and understand the meaning of the crucial questions posed on the educational level by the multicultural configuration of the complex society
- Know and understand the biological and historical-cultural matrix of difference
- Know and understand the phenomenology of differences
- Know and understand the issues concerning the epistemology of social pedagogy
- Know and understand the meaning of interculture from an ecological perspective
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
- Know how to analyse the needs of the educational context with reference to gender and ethnicity issues
- Know how to design educational courses aimed at respecting and valuing differences
Autonomy of judgment
- Know how to analyse case studies taking into account the complex issues related to them
- Know how to analyse the same situation from multiple interpretative perspectives
Communication skills
- Know how to communicate the results of exercises and group activities carried out during the lessons to colleagues
- Know how to manage the different points of view and opinions during a comparison regarding the proposed topics or the choices to be made
Learning ability
- Know how to manage self-directed processes, both in traditional learning situations and in flipped mode, through which students transform their mental abilities into skills related to activities and practiced in this specific context

The teacher also makes thematic materials available on the moodle platform to those who wish to integrate or deepen their preparation.
Assessment methods
Concerning grading (how the marks will be awarded):
Scores in the 18-22 range will be awarded in the presence of:
- sufficient knowledge and ability to apply understanding concerning the examination materials;
- sufficient originality and accuracy of the project;
- sufficient communication skills, especially in relation to the use of language specific to education.
Scores in band 23-26 will be awarded in the presence of:
- fair knowledge and ability to apply understanding concerning the examination materials;
- discrete originality and accuracy of the project;
- fair communication skills, especially in relation to the use of language specific to education
Scores in the 27-30 range will be awarded in the presence of:
- good or excellent knowledge and ability to apply understanding concerning examination materials
- good or excellent originality and accuracy of the project
- fully appropriate communication skills, especially concerning the use of language specific to education.
Honours will be awarded for knowledge and ability to apply understanding concerning the syllabus, judgement and communication skills programme, judgement and communication skills, excellent.
