The course is placed among the integrative disciplines of the Master's Degree in Italian Philology and Literature, Modern-Contemporary curriculum.
The course aims to provide students with the conceptual and methodological tools for the profession of Italian literature teacher in the secondary school. It aims, therefore, to identify insights into didactic models and their applicability in the classroom and to consolidate scientifically sound teaching skills.
At the end of the course the student will be able to identify and select the methods, techniques and teaching materials most appropriate to the achievement of the learning results provided by the legislation in the different orders and degrees of school for the teaching of Italian. He will be able to explain the process of reading, understanding and interpreting literary texts and its effects on learning and to know and use, in the basic models, the tools of didactic design for Learning Units.
To properly follow the lessons the student must have a good command of the Italian language, know the historical development of Italian literature and for direct reading the classics of our tradition.

Final verification of learning takes place through
the written elaboration of a Learning Unit or Lesson Plan agreed with the teacher;
an oral interview of approximately 20 minutes on the programme content.
Assessment criteria:
30 cum laude (excellent): the student demonstrates a thorough and complete knowledge of the content of the lectures; demonstrates consolidated ability to apply the knowledge; uses correct terminology and exposes in a clear and didactically impassive manner.
29-30 (very good): the student demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the subject; uses appropriate language and expounds with argumentative clarity.
27-28 (good): the student demonstrates broad knowledge of the content of the lectures; shows satisfactory understanding of the subject; uses precise, if sometimes schematic language.
23-26 (fair): the student demonstrates an acceptable knowledge of the syllabus and a fair ability to apply the fundamental concepts of the discipline; he/she expresses him/herself in a completely correct manner, but not without inaccuracies.
18-22 (sufficient): the student shows limited knowledge of the content of the lessons; shows uncertainties in applying the fundamental concepts; exposes unclearly with generalizations and inconsistencies.
Insufficient: the student shows poor and fragmentary knowledge of the subject; does not reach an acceptable level in the articulation of discourse.
The course is divided into lectures, which provide for active participation by students and make use of multimedia support (use of Word and Power Point with the video projector), and exercises aimed at the realization of disciplinary and interdisciplinary educational paths that can be implemented in the different school contexts.
