Contribution of the course to the overall degree programme goals
Expected learning outcomes
Both theoretical and applied knowledge and understanding of the phonological and morphological structures of the contemporary Russian language. Linguistic knowledge of the Russian language in everyday contexts at level A2 of the CEFR.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
Know how to recognize and describe the phonetic-phonological, graphic and morphological units of the Russian language; knowing how to represent sounds and phonemes through phonetic-phonological transcription systems; know how to operate syllabic and morphological segmentation; know how to use derivative schemes to form words; knowing how to interact in communicative situations at CEFR level A2; be able to understand and produce written and oral texts at A2 level of the CEFR.
3. Independent judgment
Be able to formulate correction and grammaticality judgments based on linguistic reflections; be able to find the bibliographic sources suggested by the teacher; be able to use a bilingual dictionary consisting of a lemmary of adequate size; be able to implement A2 level communication strategies.
4. Communication skills
Be able to explain at an initial level the contrastive differences in phonological and morphological structures between the Italian language and the Russian language; be able to apply the terminology of linguistics to describe the phonological and morphological phenomena of the Russian language; be able to interact in Russian in communicative situations at CEFR level A2.
5. Learning ability
Ability to self-assess at an initial level with respect to the acquisition of metalinguistic contents, as well as one's own competence in the Russian language; be able to apply the knowledge acquired to undertake the study of subsequent teaching (Russian language 2 - LT008X).

- Accent (position and models), intonation, variants of the orthoepic norm.
- Word formation: suffixes and prefixes.
- The noun: declensions and use of cases.
- The adjective; declensions; degrees of comparison (synthetic and analytical form); short and long adjectives (basics).
- The pronoun: declensions; pronominal nouns; pronominal adjectives; pronominal numerals (basics).
- Numerals: cardinals, ordinals, collectives (basic notions).
- The verb (basics):
theme of the infinite and the present;
tense: present, past, future (formation);

Assessment methods
The written part (A) is divided into:
A.1) grammar test (1 hour);
A.2) composition of a letter and a postcard (1 hour);
A.3) dictation (approximately 1000 characters).
The oral part (B) is divided into:
B.1) short conversation in Russian;
B.2) reading aloud, translation and grammatical analysis of the pages downloadable on the course Moodle.
The three writings (A.1-3) take place one after the other during the same day. Passing them is preparatory to admission to the oral test (B.1-2). The latter is normally held in the following fifteen days and must be taken in the same appeal. A necessary condition for passing the Russian Language 1 exam (LT007) is at least a sufficient result to be achieved in each of the parts (A and B) that constitute it (joint written and oral).
