Expected learning outcomes
- Becoming familiar with the basic linguistic terminology of the translation
- Acquire skills for the analysis of language and its rhetorical devices, as well as the understanding of its meanings and significance in specific social, cultural and political contexts.

- Knowing how to perform linguistic analysis on different aspects of the mother tongue and the Chinese language

- Knowing how to formulate and argue hypotheses, while developing a critical approach to the evaluation of alternative hypotheses as well.

- Acquire the ability to discuss issues concerning cultures and societies using appropriate terminology.

- Knowing how to take notes and collaboratively share them.

Contents
- 30 hours of reading comprehension and translation of Chinese texts cover topics pertaining to the socio-political reality of today's China. The goal is to improve students' language skills through lexical and syntactic analysis, and the translation of the texts under examination;
- 60 hours of training in conversation (A);
- 60 hours of training in Italian- Chinese translation (B);
- conversation tutoring: practice C;
- translation tutoring: practice D.

Assessment methods
- Conversation in Chinese;
- Chinese-Italian translation;
- Italian-Chinese translation.
The assessment is in thirtieths, and a minimum score of 18 out of 30 in each of the three tests is required to pass the examination.
Teaching methods

b) writing and conversation practice aimed at building and consolidating the knowledge, skills and competences necessary to meet the goal of the course;
c) tutoring aimed at discussing and clarifying specific language problems that emerged during the teaching.
