The objective of the course is to provide the basic knowledge necessary to master the different modes of communication, adapting them to the type of interlocutor and the media used. The methodologies illustrated during the course, which can be adopted in any circumstance and with any type of media and audience, can be used in the scientific and economic fields as well as in different areas of professional specialization.
At the end of the three modules students will be able both to write articles with a popular slant based on their specific knowledge (scientific, economic and other) and to give interviews or participate in seminars and programs by adapting the communication style to the media used (paper, web, radio, TV, social) and the audience reached.
No prior knowledge required.
The importance of storytelling and emotional involvement: how to make complex topics compelling and easier to remember.
Public speaking: vocabulary and methodologies of popular language. The rules to follow and mistakes not to make.
The art of dialogue. How to match the use of words with proper body language: an often overlooked mode of communication that used correctly reinforces the message you want to convey.
How to choose what to communicate within one's body of knowledge: the simplest message is also the most long-lasting.
The importance of preparing each and every written text or verbal intervention: attention to detail makes any form of communication better. How to act when you need to communicate without having prepared your speech.
Achievement of learning objectives will be assessed on the basis of participation in group work activities and exercises assigned in class, as well as through a final written and oral examination.

The final examination, both written and oral, will be similar to the periodic assignments given in class during individual or group work. No notes, lecture materials or electronic media will be allowed during the exam.

Students will be able to accumulate bonus points by participating in the exercises offered in class. The total thus obtained will be added to the final exam grade.
Seminars and individual and group work. Writing and analysis of journalistic texts, programs and audio and video interviews, based on scientific, economic and general topics. Simulations of real situations. Guest seminars.
