Reaching level A2 WAYSTAGE OR ELEMENTARY
Students can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). They can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. They can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Level A1 Breakthrough or beginner (CEFR). Interest in learning Italian.
From the first day students will be encouraged to use Italian in the classroom to communicate with the teacher and other students.
Italian language learning is most successful when: it takes place in a stress-free environment; students actively participate in lessons and are challenged and stimulated; a variety of media and other activities are used to cater for all learning styles; the teacher (Claudia Savino) is positive and supportive and has access to a wide range of teaching aids; students' progress is continually assessed in all areas of spoken and written Italian, based on work done in the classroom and at home.
