The course consists of the main module and the practice module. The main module offers essential information on French civilization and the Francophonie, aimed at understanding France and the French-speaking world today. The practice module is provided by the University Language Center (CLA). For further information, please consult the web page: https://www.unive.it/cla .
At the end of the main module, the student will be able to evaluate, interpret and understand the key aspects of French culture, acquiring its specific vocabulary. He or she will also have learned to deepen and verify his/her knowledge independently. Finally, he/she will have acquired the ability to synthesize information, as well as to evaluate his/her knowledge, skills and results.

The competence developed during the practice module will allow the student to improve their awareness not only of the language and its use, but also of their own learning process, with special regards to the structures and pronunciation of the language, as well as to the ways in which it deviates from his/her native language. Furthermore, he/she will develop the skills necessary to reach B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in oral and written comprehension and production. Finally, the student will have acquired the ability to compare the functioning of their own language with that of the French language, and then compare it with the cultural elements of the two countries.
Students must have an A2 level to enroll on this course and will need to pass the tutorial module before taking the main module exam. For further details, please consult the web page: https://www.unive.it/pag/46179/ .
