This course is one of the related and supplementary courses of the Economics and Business course. It aims to provide students with the main conceptual and methodological tools in the field of geography. The aim of the course is to provide knowledge related to the geographical organisation of the contemporary economy with a particular emphasis on the geographies of production, consumption, circulation and branding of commodities. The course will also focus on the discussion of the UN Agenda 2030's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to give students a comprehensive overview of what is meant by sustainable development today.
1) Knowledge and understanding
Acquire the basic concepts of economic geography and related terminology and the pillars of sustainable development


2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
To use the basic concepts of economic geography and its language to critically interpret the socio-cultural and environmental impact of economic practices (from production to consumption).

3) Judgement skills
To be able to analyse with the approach of the new critical economic geography production, circulation, branding and consumption of commodities and services.

4) Communication skills: The student learns to synthesise acquired knowledge effectively and coherently and apply it to the economic dimensions of everyday life.

For all students (attending and non-attending), the examination consists of a written test of approximately 30 minutes with 15 multiple-choice questions and one open question
Frontal-lectures. Students are warmly encouraged to participate actively to the class by intervening with questions and comments
All study materials for the exam for attending and non-attending students will be uploaded to the course's Moodle page after each lecture.

NB: Registration for the exam is managed by the electronic system of the University and not by the teacher. ONLY the students indicated in the list provided by the electronic system can take the exam.
