This course is one of the basic courses in the Master’s degree in Management, and more specifically in Innovation and Marketing and is aimed at offering students a critical perspective to the study of innovation and design issues. After an introduction on the methodological foundations and the context in which innovation is managed in contemporary firms, the course focuses on the analysis of a number of different approaches to the analysis of innovation and creativity in organizations, on the role played by design in the study of innovative processes today, and on the organisational issues typically emerging in innovation and creative processes.
After completing the course, students will understand which are the main issues concerning the innovation strategies, the management of innovation decisions and the exploitation of innovative potential embedded in the firm. Students will also acquire a complete and solid perspective on innovation processes, analysed in both their complexity and the variety of many contexts in which innovation is especially relevant, including manufacturing and service industries together with organisations operating in the CCIs.
