The course Spanish Language [EXAM] consists of a theoretical module and a Spanish language training. The general aim of the course is to introduce the students to the tourism professional discourse and to bring them to a communicative competence at the CEFR B1 level. Learning outcomes are assessed through a written and oral final test.
The teacher's module (30 hours) takes place in the first semester of the second academic year (2 lessons in the first period, one lesson in the second period). The language course (A2-B1) is annual (30 hours in the first semester, 24 hours in the second one).
By the end of the course, students will have learned how to:
- use correctly basic language to talk about Tourism and Economics.
- have a basic conversation in Spanish.
- give a group or an individual presentation.
A2 in the Spanish Language at the beginning of the course otherwise it's necessary to intensify the hours of the exercises during the first and the second semester.
The course introduces the student in the areas, sectors, and contexts typical of professional communication (airport, plane, hotel, travel agency, tourist office, events organization, tourist guide, web space) encouraging reflection on the language and immediate use.
During the course students wil have the opportunity to read authentic texts, watch videos, debate, discuss and comment on a variety of topics, including:
- Cultural Heritage
- Visitor experience and involvement
- Hospitality
- The various types of tourism and their characteristic
- Sustainable tourism

- Describing a City- City PowerPoint Presentation
- The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

The expected learning outcomes are tested with an written and oral exam ( a PowerPoint Presentation).
The exam is structured in two parts: a written exam and an oral presentation of an Italian city.
The written test (60'), which will be held before the oral presentation, aims at verifying the achievement of a B1 level linguistic competence and consists of a grammar test (gap-filling). The use of the dictionary is not permitted.
The oral presentation (max. 12 slides) can be carried out in a group (2-3 students) or individually. The group presentation will last 20 minutes whereas the individual presentation 10 minutes.
In order to participate in the exam, you must register for the appeal (Esse3).
The written test and the oral test will take place on the same day. If the number of students is too high, the oral exam will take place at a later date.

The program is the same for both attending and non-attending students.
Attendance at the EXCERCISES course, which takes place in the first and the second semester, is recommended since the final exam of the official SPANISH LANGUAGE course will focus on the basic grammar covered during the excercises classes.
Non-attending students are invited to contact the professor before the start of the course.

This subject deals with topics related to the macro-area "Circular economy, innovation, work" and contributes to the achievement of one or more goals of U. N. Agenda for Sustainable Development
