FUNDAMENTALS OF CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT OF CULTURAL HERITAGE II

Teaching characterizing the degree course in Conservation and management of cultural heritage and activities, addressed to those enrolled in the courses in "Performing Arts" and "Management of cultural heritage and activities".
Second division (6 credits) of a teaching of 12 credits; the second partition ("ELEMENTS OF CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT OF CULTURAL HERITAGE I, Prof. Erri) is offered in the third period; the final single grade comes from the average of the results obtained in the two courses.

Learning key concepts related to the museum as an institution: history, critical debate and functions from an historical perspective.
Knowledge of the historical path that led from the first public or private art collections to the contemporary museum.
To make a critical judgment on the setting up of museums and exhibitions.

No prerequisites in particular, but a curisity toward Art historical disciplines is a plus

The contents of the course, of a historical-artistic rather than managerial nature, are structured in 4 parts, each preparatory to the next:

The contemporary museum is the result of a process started at the origins of our civilization with the first forms of collecting. Between past and present, between private and public, the museum is a dynamic and constantly evolving organism. Today, for example, the museum has gone from being an architectural container to a cultural content in itself, fulfilling a very articulated function brought into focus by competent bodies such as, for example, ICOM (International Council of Museums). What are the founding aspects of the museum institution? what is its typological evolution in European historical-artistic culture? The two questions will be placed at the center of the lessons of the course, in order to allow male and female students to familiarize themselves with some historical, cultural and institutional aspects of the broad sector of Conservation and management of cultural heritage in Italy.
Laboratory section - Only for attending students
An integral part of the commitment required of attending students is the realization of a group work to be presented in the classroom, according to a calendar to be established, as a case study: Conservation and management of BBCCs in Venice, case study

REPORT OF THE_GE_CO_LAB

ORAL EXAM: the candidate is required to answer three questions on three topics of the program, each answer is assigned a score from 0 to 10, the final grade is the sum of the three scores. Honors are a plus at the discretion of the teacher. Participation in group work or demonstration of knowledge of the contents for non-attending students, gives the right to an increase in the final grade of 20%

NON-attending students
Non-attending students are evaluated ONLY on the basis of the final oral exam.

Attending students
For attending students, the final grade comes from the sum of three components, which are:
1. active participation in lessons;
2. the evaluation of a seminar presentation in the classroom;
3. the evaluation of the oral exam.

1. Active participation in the lessons is:
• the demonstration of an intellectual curiosity with regard to the discipline and the topics covered;
• participation in the debate requested by the teacher.

2. The evaluation of the seminar presentation in the classroom (as an individual or in working groups based on the number of students enrolled in the course), will take into account:
• Originality of the proposed theme and its treatment;
• Use of bibliographical, documentary and digital resources sources;
• Effectiveness of the exhibition through the use of presentation tools.

3. The final oral exam is aimed at verifying:
• The acquisition of disciplinary content;
• Mastery of a specific lexicon;
• The ability to argue and critically rework content;
• The maturation of an overall vision of the discipline.

Non-attending students

Non-attending students are evaluated on the basis of the final oral exam, prepared on all the materials as indicated at the voice: TESTI DI RIFERIMENTO

Seminar lessons in the classroom through the use of digital teaching tools;
Synchronous use of types of study and research material;
Critical reading and commentary shared in the classroom;
Shared lessons with eminent exponent of the Management of Cultural Heritage;
